Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the wild life sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh. The national park is situated at 197 km away north-east of Jabalpur. This wild life park derived its very name from an ancient fort in the area. Bandhawgarh National Park belongs to the Vindhyan mountain ranges of central India and it boasts to have the highest density of tiger population in the country.

| January 19th, 2012 | We arrive at Monsoon Forest and settle in over a cup of tea. First half of the day we enjoy the lodge and its amazing surroundings. Post Lunch we will leave for our first safari. Back to the lodge by evening, to enjoy the camp fire and have endless discussions which shall continue over dinner. |
| January 20th & 21st, 2012 | Early morning wake up call. After tea and refreshments we will leave for our morning safari with the naturalists and park guides. Come back to the lodge by lunch time to enjoy the amazing dishes cooked specially for us by the chef at the lodge. Post lunch we will leave for another round of safari. Back to the lodge by evening, to enjoy the camp fire and have endless discussions which shall continue over dinner. |
| January 22nd, 2011 | Early morning wake up call. After tea and refreshments we will leave for our morning safari. And come back to the lodge in time for breakfast. Post which we shall relax around at the lodge and then leave to catch our respective trains back. |

Bandhavgarh has convenient air and train connections from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta and Bhopal. It is also connected via charter flights to Umaria airport (32 Km) and a charter helicopter service directly to Bandhavgarh.

It is the sole home of the pure Asiatic Lions (Panthera leo persica) and is considered to be one of the most important protected areas in Asia due to its supported species. The only place in the world outside Africa, where the lion can be seen in his natural habitat.
At the park you will also get to see the extremely hospitable , the Maldharis (herders) , whose lifestyle has changed little over the years , and their folklore and traditions are a unique record of the coexistence of humans and lions.
Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary is a 1412 sq km hilly tract of dry deciduous forests. As per the official census, Gir has 411 lions. Sambar and spotted deer (chital), blue bull (nilgai), chousingha (the world's only four-horned antelope), chinkara (Indian gazelle) and wild boar thrive in Gir. Jackal, striped hyena, jungle cat, rusty-spotted cat, langur, porcupine, black-naped Indian hare are among the other mammals of Gir. Gir has a large population of marsh crocodile or mugger, which is among the 40 species of reptiles and amphibians recorded in the sanctuary. The park checklist has 250 birds and about 50 other species (including the endangered lesser florican and the saras crane)

By Air : The nearest airport with connectivity to Delhi is Ahmedabad about 390 km from the lodge and the drive takes about seven to eight hours depending on the number of stops en route.
By Train : There are trains to Rajkot and then the drive of about 164 km takes three to four hours.
